"Sydney rockers Bad Moon Born turned their classic rock muses into an anthem on debut single Promised Land. The lead track from slick debut EP Chemical Lullabies expertly pays homage to the storied history of sneering guitar licks and epic solos of traditional rock. If Promised Land feels like the embryonic stage of a monolithic career, that’s because it probably is."

+ METAL NEXUS

"I am amazed at the fact that this band has only been together a mere year or so and will go on the record right now and say I expect big things from these Aussies ... The self-described “girth rock” band has a fluid sound that’s firmly rooted in classic rock inspirations but with a very blues-infused modern rock presentation and it is altogether powerful. It’s aurally infectious and crafted with insightful arrangements, solid hooks, masterful melodies, and stellar execution.

Comprised of five tracks, “Chemical Lullabies” runs a gamut of tempos, intensities, and energy levels and it all begins with the highly addictive grooves of “Chemical Lullaby”. Take note, struggling rock bands seeking radio airplay…THIS is how it is done!"

"Chemical Lullabies sounds great. The instruments are clear and, for an indie release, the production is high quality. The music itself is a bit of a cross-match between ’90s Audioslave or I Mother Earth and current hard rock. The “title” track “Chemical Lullaby” is an infectious groove with some great guitar work and solid rhythm section. “Drowning” starts off slowly, using Frank Lakoudis’ vocals as the driving force, before the band cuts in with a pretty good mid-tempo rocker.

“Carry On” has a blues rock based guitar line and vocals that reminds me of Lynch Mob’s first album, Wicked Sensation. Ditto with “Beauty & Fury.” It’s heavy, but not fast. A bit of a lilt to this song, and brings me back to I Mother Earth’s Scenery and Fish circa 1995. “Promised Land” is another Lynch-inspired slow burn of a song that starts off comfortably, then explodes before the verse into a grind, finally pulling itself back until the chorus."

+ Music Feeds

"Bad Moon Born – the new Sydney based project, have exploded on to the circuit with their debut EP, Chemical Lullabies. At just five tracks long, the disc is a pocket rocket fuelled by monster blues riffage, lead guitar wizardry and of course the signature skyscraper vocals of frontman Frank the Tank.

The whole thing is basically like Audioslave-meets-Alter Bridge-meets-Black Country Communion on steroids and one of the most stand-out tunes of the solid 5-pack is title track Chemical Lullaby, which is packing a sleazy cool bassline, mean-ass guitars, lushly stacked Kansas-esque harmonies and one godzilla-beast of a chorus hook. Any rock fan will dig the funk out of this."

'Chemical Lullabies' is the debut EP from the Sydney hard rockers. It's an EP wich doesn't disappoint. Opener 'Promised Land' is packed full of swagger and riffs with a fuge foot stomping chorus. Second track 'Chemical Lullabies' makes things a little sweeter, with that naughty twisting riff meandering through before another belting chorus.

The ballad sits nicely during the third track, albeit a little flat. But Bad Moon Born really know how to bring things to a close during the final trak 'Beauty & Fury'. A flurry of anthemic, stadium filling rock and roll which just sounds huge. A brilliant little EP for any fans of the classic rock genre.

+ Happy

The first track off Bad Moon Born's debut EP, 'Chemical Lullabies', captivates listeners with its killer vocals from the start. The entire song delves into the familiar qualities of classic rock music, combined with the slick guitars - Bad Moon Born gives it their all and their music sweep fans away...to the Promised Land.
